The People of Haiti Need Support
As a company, Nordstrom is donating $150,000 in total to three different organizations to support the relief efforts and redevelopment of Haiti. Each organization will receive $50,000. The organizations are Partners in Health, American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund and the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. We have heard from many of you, our employees, that you would like a way to join Nordstrom in its giving efforts. Choosing how to give is entirely up to you - there are many worthy organizations that need immediate support to help those in need in Haiti. If you'd like, please consider joining Nordstrom in our contribution to Partners In Health (PIH), who has been working in Haiti for over 20 years. Their team is already working to ensure PIH’s coordinated relief efforts, leveraging the skills of more than 120 doctors and nearly 500 nurses and nursing assistants who work at established sites throughout Haiti. It's clear there is urgent, overwhelming need in Haiti. We've started this PIH campaign with a $50,000 donation. If you're interested, you can give to PIH to support this relief effort.  When a Person in Peru, or Siberia, or rural Haiti falls ill, PIH uses all of the means at our disposal to make them well… Whatever it takes. Just as we would do if a member of our own family—or we ourselves—were ill. |
